Israel ha publicado una lista de sus militares muertos en combate contra el ala militar de Hamás y has el momento de publicar esta nota van 44 militares fallecidos
Las Fuerzas de Defensa de Israel (FDI) han publicado una lista de sus militares que perdieron la vida como resultado de los combates con el ala militar del movimiento Hamás, que se desataron la mañana del sábado 7 de octubre del 2023. Entre los 26 oficiales figura el coronel Jonathan Steinberg, comandante de la Brigada de Infantería Nahal de Israel.
En el momento de la publicación de la lista, Steinberg resultó ser el oficial israelí del rango más alto, cuya muerte se confirmó oficialmente y es resultado de los enfrentamientos con el ala militar de Hamás.
Steinberg murió como consecuencia de un intercambio de disparos ayer sábado 7 de octubre del 2023 en el área de Kerem Shalom, cerca de la frontera con la Franja de Gaza. Según las FDI, el coronel, que tenía 42 años, fue abatido mientras se dirigía al lugar de los enfrentamientos en curso, donde sus subordinados se enfrentaban a los militantes de Hamás.
Otro militar israelí que murió en los enfrentamientos contra Hamás fue el jefe de la unidad de élite multidimensional, conocida como la unidad ‘Fantasma‘, el coronel Roi Levy, fue asesinado ayer sábado 7 de octubre del 2023 mientras sus fuerzas luchaban contra las milicias de Hamás en la comunidad meridional de Re’im, cerca de Gaza, informan las autoridades de Israel.
Las Fuerzas de Defensa de Israel indicaron que Levy “dirigió a su equipo con valentía, se enfrentó y entró primero en la batalla en el kibutz Re’im, para salvar a los ciudadanos que estaban sitiados en sus casas”
