El excomandante paramilitar colombiano Salvatore Mancuso llegó hoy martes 27 de febrero del 2024 al aeropuerto militar de Catam en Bogotá, procedente de EE.UU., país donde cumplió una condena por narcotráfico y se mantenía retenido en un centro de migrantes irregulares.
El exjefe de las extintas Autodefensas Unidas de Colombia (AUC) arribó al país sudamericano en un vuelo chárter junto a unos cien colombianos que, en su mayoría, cumplieron penas por narcotráfico en territorio estadounidense, recoge el periódico colombiano El Tiempo.
Otro diario, El Colombiano apunta que en los próximos días se prevé la realización de una audiencia en la que se determinará si debe permanecer en prisión por los cargos que se le imputan en su país, Colombia.
Mancuso fue extraditado a EE.UU. en 2008 y cumplió condena en ese país hasta 2020. A partir de ese momento fue llevado a un centro de detención de migrantes, en Georgia, donde se mantuvo hasta ahora.
La reclusión
En su calidad de gestor de paz, el también conocido como ‘Triple Cero‘ fue recibido en la terminal aérea por el director de Migración Colombia, Fernando García, así como por Helena Urán Bidegain, jefa de la unidad del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores para medidas de no repetición.
Una vez constatada su documentación y el estado de salud, fue entregado a la Policía Nacional de Colombia, que se encargará de su traslado al Complejo Carcelario y Penitenciario Metropolitano de Bogotá, conocido como ‘La Picota‘, donde lo recluirán en el pabellón de los extraditables.
Mancuso estará bajo vigilancia del personal del Instituto Nacional Penitenciario y Carcelario (Inpec) y de funcionarios de la Policía, según Blu Radio.
La defensa del exparamilitar, publicó La Razón, está preocupada por el sitio de reclusión, al que consideran de “alto riesgo” para su seguridad. Por ello, trascendió que solicitarán medidas cautelares ante la Comisión Interamericana de Derechos Humanos (CIDH) para evitar que sea enviado a la principal cárcel colombiana.
¿Qué se espera?
En el país suramericano le esperan procesos abiertos en la Fiscalía, la Justicia de Paz y la Jurisdicción Especial para la Paz (JEP), órgano transicional surgido tras el Acuerdo entre el Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC) y el Gobierno, en 2016.
Entre los delitos por los que deberá responder se encuentran centenas de homicidios, masacres, desplazamientos y desapariciones forzadas.
Además, como gestor de paz y por su sometimiento a la JEP, en condición de ‘bisagra‘ entre los paramilitares y la Fuerza Pública (1989-2004), se aspira a que contribuya a la verdad, que reconozca su responsabilidad en los crímenes cometidos y que ayude a la reparación de las víctimas.
