El economista argentino Aberto Benegas Lynch, uno de los principales asesores del candidato de la ultraderecha a presidente de Argentina, Javier Milei, provocó un revuelo en las últimas horas de la campaña al proponer la ruptura de las relaciones con el Vaticano.
“Por consideración y respeto a mi religión católica creo que habría que imitar lo que hizo el presidente (Julio Argentino) Roca y suspender las relaciones diplomáticas con el Vaticano, mientras allí prive el espíritu totalitario“, advirtió Benegas Lynch ayer miércoles 18 de octubre del 2023 por la noche, durante el cierre de campaña de Milei.
En medio de ovaciones, el político de 83 años, a quien Milei define como “un prócer del liberalismo”, aclaró que asumía de manera individual sus dichos, aunque van en línea con el enfrentamiento que el candidato ha sostenido con el papa Francisco, a quien alguna vez definió como “un representante del maligno en la tierra”.
También ha acusado a Francisco de influir de manera indebida en la política argentina y a nivel internacional. “[El papa] tiene afinidad por los comunistas asesinos (…) además es alguien que considera a la justicia social como un elemento central y eso es muy complicado”, dijo Milei en septiembre del 2023, durante una entrevista con el periodista estadounidense Tucker Carlson.
Esta semana, Francisco le respondió de manera velada, ya que, sin mencionar directamente el nombre del candidato, alertó sobre “la trampa” que representan los “flautistas de Hamelin” que aprovechan las crisis para encantar a la gente y la terminan ahogando.
“A veces, los chicos y las chicas se aferran a milagros, a mesías, a que las cosas se resuelvan de manera mesiánica. El Mesías es uno solo que nos salvó a todos. Los demás son todos payasos de mesianismo“, señaló el Papa en entrevista con Télam, la agencia estatal de noticias de Argentina.
Reacciones
El arzobispo de Buenos Aires, Jorge Ignacio García Cuerva, lamentó la propuesta de Benegas Lynch, ya que contraviene los preceptos de la Iglesia católica.
“Lo escuché y quedé azorado, sorprendido, en un momento en el que tratamos de pedir una Argentina unida, vivimos en un mundo tan violento, con guerra, en un mundo con tanta agresión que creo que tenemos que tender puentes, la cultura del encuentro”, explicó en una entrevista con radio Perfil.
También insinuó que el economista debe tener “una religión privada” porque, de ninguna manera, lo que propuso se condice con la religión católica a la que dice pertenecer.
“Para los católicos, la figura del Santo Padre, más allá de quien sea porque estamos convencidos de que acá interviene el Espíritu Santo, no es solamente una autoridad sino que es nuestro pastor, nuestro referente universal. Es, por lo menos, impactante“, dijo.
El obispo de Córdoba, Sergio Buenanueva, señaló en sus redes sociales que la propuesta del asesor mileísta es totalmente inviable.
“La tendencia actual de la mayoría de las naciones, más que de romper relaciones, es lo contrario: establecer relaciones diplomáticas con la Santa Sede, habida cuenta de la especificidad de la diplomacia vaticana orientada a fomentar la paz entre las naciones”, precisó.
El canciller Santiago Cafiero, en tanto, aclaró que la iniciativa del mentor de Milei no representa a la sociedad argentina.
“Es una expresión marginal, ridícula, que no tiene nada que ver con lo que son las relaciones que edifican a la Argentina con el resto de los países y con el Vaticano, además, es ofensiva (…) responde a una búsqueda permanente de seguir ofendiendo al papa”, dijo.
