Franquicias de Mc.Donalds en países de la región han criticado fuertemente está acción de Mc.Donalds Israel
La franquicia de los restaurantes de comida rápida McDonald’s en Israel ha sido blanco de críticas después de anunciar en sus redes sociales que proporcionaría comida gratis a los soldados israelíes.
En los primeros días del conflicto palestino-israelí, la firma anunció el cierre de sus locales para los clientes con el fin de ofrecer productos gratuitos al Ejército de Israel, por lo que se abrieron cinco establecimientos adicionales.
Según la cadena de McDonald’s en el país hebreo, ha enviado 4.000 raciones de “comida gratis” a los soldados de la nación y seguirá enviando la misma cantidad “diariamente”. Además, se ofrecerá un 50 % de descuento al personal de las Fuerzas de Defensa de Israel (FDI) que acuda a sus locales.

“McDonald’s donará miles de comidas gratuitas a las Fuerzas de Defensa de Israel y a los ciudadanos tras los ataques de Hamás”, asegura un internauta en la red social X.
También ha empezado a circular por Internet una imagen que muestra un símbolo de McDonald’s en forma de cohetes cayendo sobre la ciudad de Gaza y, en el centro, una niña llorando.
Reacción de McDonald’s en otros países
La iniciativa de la compañía en la nación hebrea chocó incluso con la postura de las franquicias en otros países de Oriente Medio. En el Líbano, la posición del McDonald’s israelí provocó un fuerte descontento y la gente realizó una protesta frente a uno de los restaurantes en la ciudad de Sidón.
Posteriormente, se publicó un mensaje en la página oficial de la cadena de restaurantes en el Líbano, en el que “condena la violencia cometida contra el pueblo y los niños de Gaza“, al tiempo que anunció que donará 70.000 dólares para ayudar a las víctimas.
Bajo la misma línea, la franquicia de McDonald’s en Omán decidió mostrar su apoyo al pueblo de Gaza y señaló que la empresa había donado 100.000 dólares para ayudar a los civiles en Gaza.
“McDonald’s Omán (Al Daud Restaurants LLC) confirma nuestra simpatía humanitaria por nuestros hermanos y hermanas de Gaza, y no comprometemos nuestro compromiso con los más altos principios y valores que prosperan en nuestra comunidad”, reza la declaración de la compañía.
Por su parte, McDonald’s en Kuwait también afirmó que apoya a “los hermanos y hermanas de Palestina, especialmente en la Franja de Gaza”, y anunció que donará 250.000 dólares a la Sociedad de la Media Luna Roja de Kuwait para ayudar a los civiles afectados de la zona.
“Lo que hizo el operador de McDonald’s en Israel fue un ejemplo de acción individual. Esta no fue una decisión global y no ha sido respaldada por ninguno de los demás operadores locales, especialmente en nuestra región”, aseveró.
La cadena de comida rápida de Emiratos Árabes Unidos destacó en su página oficial que está “profundamente entristecida por los acontecimientos en la región”, anunciando una donación de un millón de dirhams (unos 270.000 dólares) a la Media Luna Roja del país para su campaña por Gaza.
Mientras, McDonald’s en Turquía también anunció el envío de un millón de dólares en ayuda humanitaria para “las personas de Gaza que se han convertido en víctimas de la guerra, especialmente mujeres, niños y ancianos”.
Asimismo, McDonald’s en Catar mostró su solidaridad con Palestina y decidió donar el equivalente de 270.000 dólares a los residentes de Gaza.
