Un hombre de 25 años falleció ayer domingo 8 de octubre del 2023 en la localidad española de Bera, en la Comunidad Foral de Navarra, por la explosión de un dispositivo electrónico que cargaba en la mesa de luz de la habitación de su vivienda.
La explosión provocó que se prendiera fuego el colchón de la cama en la que el ecuatoriano Kevin Vladimir Paredes Jiménez estaba acostado.
Medios locales reportaron que el hecho ocurrió mientras Paredes se encontraba solo en la casa. Su cuerpo fue hallado por la madre de su pareja, quien al pasar por el lugar sintió “un fuerte olor a quemado”, por lo que debió romper una puerta y cristales para poder entrar.
Al llegar a la habitación, encontró a Kevin tendido en el suelo, por lo que lo arrastró de los hombros hasta la cocina y dio aviso a las autoridades. Personal médico y la Guardia Civil llegaron hasta el lugar y tras brindarle la primera atención, fue trasladado en helicóptero a un hospital, donde falleció por las quemaduras sufridas.
También se intenta determinar si sufrió una descarga eléctrica que le provocó un paro cardiorrespiratorio.
La investigación
En un primer momento, las autoridades estimaron que el incendio del colchón había sido provocado por la explosión del teléfono móvil, pero el dispositivo fue hallado sin ningún signo de detonación, por lo que fue descartado como causa de la tragedia.
Finalmente, agentes de la Guardia Civil señalaron que la explosión se podría haber registrado en una tableta o una computadora que estaba enchufada cerca de la cama de la víctima.
